Such quantity of simultaneously working builders the Peter-and-Paul Fortress hasn’t seen most probably since the time of Peter the Great. In full swing goes the restoration of the Peter-and-Paul Cathedral, the latter will be plastered anew; its roof, spire and angel will be restored.
In July this year there was taken a decision on the taking down of the angel’s figure, for the present moment the restorers prepare it to be gilt. On the Naryshkin Bastion, the Flagstaff Tower and the Yekaterinenskaya Curtain on these days the roof has being changed and the facades has being restored. On the Ioannovsky Bridge the builders are finishing the arcade’s coating and repair of the bed’s part.
