“Overall positive significance of St. Petersburg’s 300th jubilee outweighs distinct critical observations”, stated the deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Golutva during his meeting with journalists in the “300 Years to St. Petersburg” press-center. According to him, the jubilee plays very important role for the culture and art development.
“Never before our budget was financing in such amounts the staging of new performances, films, exhibition and editing activities, symposiums and conferences”, stressed the deputy Minister. Alexander Golutva informed that specially for the holiday the films of producer Melnikov “Poor. Poor Paul” and “Teachers” were being done, where modern history is evolving in the streets of St. Petersburg in one day interval.
Besides, Natalia Yefteyeva is doing for the jubilee her animation film with elements of a fiction movie after the novel of Andrei Belyi “Petersburg”. The deputy Minister pointed that the list of documentary films that are being done for the jubilee will comprise several pages.
