“MENATEP St. Petersburg” bank has in full volume financed the complex of works of reconstruction of lightning of the Peter and Paul Fortress. On November 21, the last third line of illumination was solemnly opened.

The bank’s project which received the name of “Bright Fortress” became a considerable event in the city’s life. It has been carried out during the last three years and is a long-run cultural action of “MENATEP St. Petersburg” timed to St. Petersburg’s 300th anniversary.

The deed of accomplishment of the project “Bright Fortress” was signed by the director of the State Museum of St. Petersburg History B. Arakcheyev and the chairman of the board of directors of “MENATEP St. Petersburg” bank D. Lebedev.

New illumination equipment was placed over the whole outer perimeter of the Peter and Paul Fortress’ walls. The total extension of the illumination line comprise 2.3 km. The whole line of lightning was designed on the basis of new expensive elements rare to Russia. It represents a system of lamps with special luminescent lamps with the working temperature range from minus 30 Celsius degrees to plus 40 degrees centigrade. The lamps are equipped with visors closing the source of lightning from atmospheric sediments actual for St. Petersburg’s humid weather.
