The chairman of the Russian Federation Council Sergei Mironov prepares two presents for the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. On this he announced on December 7 at a press-conference in the city on the Neva.
The first present has been prepared on “professional line”. Mironov pointed that bridges’ raising in St. Petersburg during navigation period causes some inconvenience for its residents. At the same time the money from ships’ passage through the Neva river go to the federal budget. The Russian Federation Council speaker considers that it would be fair if a part of this money goes back to St. Petersburg as a compensation for inconvenience.
At the present moment the lawyers work over creation of a law or bringing changes into one of the articles of the Transport code. Evidently, this Bill will be initiated by Mironov in 2003.
The second present that the Sovfed (Russian Federation Council) speaker prepares to his native city – the performance tour in St. Petersburg of famous Moscow musical “Nord-Ost”. He remarked that the agreement in this question is almost reached.
