Despite the fact that the volume of the restoration works is really large, constructors and restorers are ready to represent the main square of St. Petersburg in renewed appeal before the city 300-anniversary.

On the square underground engineering communications and lightning are being remade; instead of asphalt, granite tiles are laid on considerable part of the territory, the repairs of the Winter Palace’s facade is on, the museum’s yard is being repaired also.

The following figures may tell on the repairs scope: the total paving area comprised 17,000 sq. m. out of the total asphalt area of 47,000 sq. m.

According to the experts estimate, the reconstruction of Palace Square is being done in accordance with the scheduled regime. For the present moment more than 80% of work is done.
