Ceremony of delivery of the first in the 300-anniversary year gift to Saint Petersburg from the Gusevsky crystal factory was held January, 9 in the Elaginoostrovsky palace-museum. "By this event we “have unpacked” our anniversary Petersburg year", - the governor of Saint Petersburg Vladimir Jakovlev told on the ceremony of delivery of the gift. The ceremony was held in the framework of taking place in the city on Neva exhibitions of the Gusevsky crystal factory’s products "All sides".
The gift to Saint Petersburg is a unique vase from crystal with cobalt thin coating, having decorative diamond cutting. Its height is about 1 meter, weight - about 18 kg, it consists of three parts. For creation of the vase which name is "Tradition", one and half month was taken. The name of the gift symbolizes both traditions of the crystal factory, and tradition of Saint Petersburg. Basic elements of decor - the image of the plan of Saint Petersburg, created in 1737, and an allegorical figure of the guardian angel of the city. Primary colour of the vase - dark blue - "symbolizes the well-known Petersburg sky, Neva and the Baltic sea". The vase will be kept in the Elaginoostrovsky palace. The Gusevsky crystal factory also presented a gift to the palace- museum – a vase "Princess".
