The heads of 45 states-participants of St. Petersburg summit on May 31, 2003, will be accompanied by a total of 1.5 hundred people. This was communicated last Friday during the away session of the Federal Assembly Commission on the preparation for the anniversary, by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg, the president of the External relations committee, Alexander Prokhorenko. However, according to him, “the city will manage this influx of guests, and the security in the northern capital” will be sustained by appropriate structures on the highest level”.

In addition, as the president of the Transportation Committee, Alexey Chumak has noted, “the works are underway on installations of motor ships converted into floating hotels; the amount of public transport units will be increased by over 100 new buses and trolleys, whereas current Pulkovo airport capacity constitutes 30 million passengers per year”.
