In relation with the upcoming celebrations of 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg, the city will activate the struggle with the extremist manifestations. The minister of the internal affairs of the Russian Federation, Boris Gryzlov, has declared that during his meeting with media representatives. The minister noted, that the administration of St. Petersburg police force has been given specific tasks accordingly.
As Mr. Gryzlov has noted, the Main Department of the Interior of St. Petersburg is uncovering extremist groups, there is operative work being conducted. In particular, the criminal investigation unit has uncovered the attack and murder of the citizen of Mauritius. In addition, the law enforcement authorities have been given information of a group of anti-globalists planning to visit St. Petersburg during the celebration, so the visa and passport services have received appropriate instructions.
