HRH Prince Michael of Kent is looking forward to St. Petersburg Tercentennial Car Race. His Royal Highness thinks that the event would strengthen the relations between Great Britain and Russia.

It is reported that 15 antique Bentley cars will take part in the rally. All the cars had been manufactured before 1931, with the engine capacity from 100 to 500 horsepowers. The rally participants will cover a distance of over 2500 kilometers. The rally will start in Ekaterinburg not far from the place where a cathedral is being built in the memory of martyred Emperor Nicholas II and his family, executed there in 1918. The race will pass through Izhevsk, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Suzdal, Moscow, Tver, and Great Novgorod. The rally will end on June 2 in St. Petersburg. The cars will also take flight twice: first as they will be delivered aboard cargo plane An-124 from Ekaterinburg to London, and then as they will head back to Great Britain from St. Petersburg.

Prince Michael, who himself is planning to take part in the event says the money generated during the rally will then be spent on charity.
