Machine-building plant “Arsenal” celebrated its 290th birthday. Chairman of the board of directors Vitaly Sychov and deputy director general Vladimir Smirnov spoke of one of the oldest city's enterprises' develoment at the press conference in the plant's museum. The beginning of the plant's history concerns the name of Peter I who in 1711signed a decree of establishing cannon foundries in St. Petersburg. Today “Arsenal” is the main purveyor of artillery weapons for Russian Navy.
