St. Petersburg's delegation headed by Governor Yakovlev will participate in the International Forum of Northern Dimension that opens today in Finnish town of Lappeenranta. Finland's prime minister Paavo Lipponen, Russian vice-premier Victor Khristenko, manager of European Bank of reconstruction and development Jean Lemiere are among the forum's main speakers. The Forum's aim is to discuss tasks and possible ways of the European Union activity for the Northern Dimension program implementation. The program was accepted at the European Union meeting in June, 2000.
