According to Scania press service, it will be Scania OmniLink 12-meter buses for city traffic. Ready-made chassis will be delivered from Sweden to St. Petersburg, where body will be manufactured and ultimate assembly take place. The production capacity of the Petersburg Scania plant will be 200 buses a year, the amount of employees in 2002 will be about 60. Assembly shop cost the company 80 million crowns ($8m).
Scania has been already working on the Petersburg market for 10 years . The head office of Scania branch in Russia is in Moscow.
