The specialised exhibition is included in the list of the city's priority events for the year 2002. This annual 'parade of education' is the sixth, each time exciting pedagogues, professional, students and parents. This year's Career and Education exhibition will be the final stage of preparation for the Russian School of the 21st Century forum to take place in St. Petersburg on the threshold of the city's tercentenary.
The organisers, including the Restek exhibition company, the City Committee for Education, the Science and Higher School Committee, and the St. Petersburg Department of the Federal Employment Service will do their best to represent every aspect of modern education, the potentials of various schools, agencies for education abroad and employment services.
According to the Committee for Education, in 2001, on the average, St. Petersburg's higher schools received 3.3 enrolment application for each place they had, the figure having steadily grown for the past 5 years. This is why the organisers expect a large number of young people to visit the exhibition.
The participants of Career and Education-2002 include The Baltic Institute of Ecology, Politics and Law, the American ÀÑÑÅLS, the European University at St. Petersburg, The Institute of International Educational Programmes, the Committee for Education of the administration of St. Petersburg, the Oxbridge consulting centre for education abroad, the Department of education and Youth Policies of the Nevsky and Kurortny districts of the city, and other St. Petersburg and international organisations engaged in education.
