The interdepartmental commission approved a new automated gas-filling compressor station AGNKS-125/250 manufactured by Kirov-Energomash plant, the daughter enterprise of Kirovsky plant.

This decision of commission allows the plant to start a quantity production of the stations, but the cost of equipment reaching $0.5 million might become an obstacle for the sales. The function of AGNKS-125/250 is filling cars with compressed natural gas (methane). The construction works have been conducted since 1993. It is a joint project with Gazprom, which is realizing its own program of exchanging car fuel from petroleum to gas. Engineering works and producing a pilot station took almost nine years. In November 2001 the first AGNKS-125/250 was erected and launched for trial run in Kacimovo (Ryasan region).
