The International Posidonia-2002 marine exhibition opened in Greece yesterday. Among others, it features the new products of St. Petersburg's Baltiisky Zavod shipyards.
This is according to the wharves' press service. Exhibited is the new horizontally loaded passenger-automobile ferry ordered in 2002 by Portuguese Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo S.A.
Also exhibited is a 70,000 tonnes deadweight ice-class tanker capable of carrying four different kinds of cargo, including gas condensate. Other exhibits include a design of a USD 45 million floating desalinating installation capable of outputting daily 40,000 cubic meters of desalinated water.
Presented at the Posidonia-2002 marine exhibition will be all branches of shipbuilding, ship repairing, the production of marine equipment, port service and management, financing, and marine insurance. The participants include over 1,500 companies from 70 countries all over the world. The exhibition will last through June 7.
