According to State Committee of Statistic, Goskomstat, prices of this June turned up only by 0.5%.

This proves to be the lowest rate of growth for the prices since the start of the year.

Against this font, chargeable services went up 1.6%, non-edible consumption – up 1.1% but food was down 0.2% in the terms of prices only. Besides this, as Goskomstat head Sokolin points out, the food will get cheaper and afterwards. One can quote him thus:“Food’s share when calculating inflation is usually around 55%”. Altogether, Sokolin strongly prognoses a certain deflation for July-August period “ what may close to zero points in September”.

But different people hold different opinions. As “Vedomosti”, Russian newspaper took among a number of experts its survey, the paper found out that it is principally in a summer period that start to be of influence the increases of natural monopolies tariffs, and additions to budget workers wages as well as increases with money provision of the military.
