By the end of 2003 McDonald's is planning to invest $14 million into the construction of new restaurants in St. Petersburg, informs president of McDonald’s in Russia and Byelorussia 2003 Hamzat Hasbullatov. By the end of this year McDonald’s will launch two or three new restaurants, which will claim up to $4 million. In 2003 the company is planning to construct and open 6 to 7 new restaurants, which will cost additional $10 million. The turnover of one restaurant is $420 per month. In St. Petersburg McDonald’s is visited by over 30.000 people a day. The opening of a new restaurant offers 100 positions on staff, and 70% of the personnel are students. As to the Northwest region, McDonald’s is planning to build new restaurants in Prskov and in Velekiy Novgorod. Nowadays there are 67 McDonald’s restaurants in Russia, they are visited daily by over 230.000 people.
