Investments in St. Petersburg's Pulkovo international airport for reconstruction in the run up to the city's 300th anniversary amounted to USD 34 million, said Pulkovo Deputy Director Valery Indusov at a press conference on May 15. He said USD 15 million in investments were provided by the federal budget, and an additional USD19 million were from the company's own resources.
The repair work involves the reconstruction of the departure and arrival halls, the runways and building additional facilities. The work will be completed before May 20. The airport will be closed for regular flights on May 30 and 31 in order to receive some 70 airplanes with 44 foreign delegations on board.
