Primorsk port oil shipments increased by 11.42% in first half of 2003

Primorsk port July 9. For the first half of 2003, the port of Primorsk in Leningrad Region shipped 6.51 million tonnes of oil, which is an 11.42% increase compared to 2002, said Spetsmornefteport Primorsk General Director Vladimir Didenko. In June 2003 alone 1.09 million tonnes of oil was shipped through the port.

Open joint-stock company Spetsmornefteport Primorsk is the subsidiary of Transneft. The oil terminal at the Primorsk port was opened on December 27, 2001. The oil pipeline Yaroslavl-Primorsk is the concluding thread in the Baltic pipeline system (BPS). At the beginning of June 2003 the capacity of BPS increased with the activation of an additional section of the oil pipeline from 12 million tonnes of oil per year to 18 million tonnes.
