The Russia Power Machine Building Concern “Power Machines” syndicated with the Germany Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation Company won a tender to reconstruct 12 hydrotreaters of the Aswan Hydroelectric Power Station, reported Regnum.ru.

The concern’s rivals proved to be such world power export leaders as “Alstom” and “Toshiba”.

In course of reconstruction it’s planned to change a stator of treaters, to fulfil rotor, driving and adjuvant systems works. This planned works will take more than 6 years, two treaters will be reconstructed yearly.

According to Regnum in the OJSC “Power Machines” Public Relations Administration, projection and production of an equipment’s part will be jointly realised by Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation and “Electrosila Ltd.”.

To reconstruct Aswan hydrotreaters Egyptian government got a credit in total sum of 85 mil. Eurs from the Germany Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau Bank.

It’s to be mentioned that 12 hydrotreaters, (each of 175 megawatts ) of “Electrosila Ltd.” production, were set up on the Aswan HPS. Today the first hydrotreaters have worked for 35 years.
