Sea traffic through Leningrad region The volume of sea traffic travelling through Leningrad Region should reach 24 million tonnes in 2003, said Chairman of the External Ties Committee of the Leningrad Region Administration Sergei Naryshkin. He said that in 2004 the total quantity of transported freight could reach 55-60 million tonnes. 'Leningrad Region is a high-capacity transport corridor. 'The growth of competition in the development of freight transportation and port complexes in the region of the Baltic Sea has made it essential for Leningrad Region to support the growth of logistics and trade,' he said.
