The decision of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, to dismiss his government won’t influence the credit rating of Russia. This opinion was shared by Elena Hessel, an analyst at Standard & Poor’s, an international rating agency. In her words, the established BB+ level for Russia, which is one level lower than investment level, “won’t change for the time being”. In Hessel’s words, “Altogether, the dismissal of the government wasn’t unexpected,” Hessel emphasized, remarking that when setting its rating S&P considers the development of economic reforms in the country, and many planned reform structures in Russia are only just beginning to operate.
