Russian brewer Baltika showcased its line of products at a beer festival in Helsinki which took place earlier this month. Brewers and microbrewers from Estonia, Great Britain, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, the Czech Republic and Finland participated in the event.
Baltika rented a 24-square meter area at the exhibition, where it arranged a bar and tables and gave guests the opportunity to taste the company's 13 different types of beer. Baltika-6 dark beer was the most popular. Over the two-day period 17 thirty liter kegs of Baltika were consumed not including bottled beer. The Helsinki beer festival is the largest festival of its kind in Finland. The festival was conducted in the central part of the city and is a commercial exhibition as well as a public festival.
The realization of Baltika products for export in 2003 reached 992.3 thousand hectoliters or a 9% increase year-on-year. Last year, the company exported its products to 32 countries. The company is one of the more profitable breweries worldwide.
