The Norwegian company ‘Hjellegjerde’, which deals with production of ergonomical soft furniture, is about to invest $300 thousand in construction of its warehouse in St. Petersburg.
Apart from the opening of the storage facility with an area of 100-200 square meters, the company will also spend extra resources to establish a representative office of ‘Hjellegjerde’ in St. Petersburg and to start marketing the company's production. The Norwegian company is planning to take in 50% of the egronomical furniture imported to Moscow and St. Petersburg within 3-5 years.
Hjellegjerde is now a leading quality producer of unholstered furniture in the consumer market and the contract market. Hjellegjerde reached a record high annual sales income of 418 million NOK in 2000. Two thirds of the sales were exported to markets outside Norway. By the end of june 2002, the Hjellegjerde Group had a total of 559 employees.
