The 9th International Economic Forum ended in St. Petersburg on Thursday.
Sergei Mironov, the speaker of the Federation Council (upper house of the Russian parliament), said at the concluding press conference that more than 3,000 people from 60 countries participated in the Forum.
The Russian president took part in the Forum for the first time.
Fifteen governors, seven parliament speakers, five Russian federal ministers, and 25 foreign ministers attended the Forum.
Four conferences and 35 roundtables were held as part of the Forum. About 100 people addressed its plenary session and more than 500 speakers took part in roundtable discussions.
One of the main outcomes of the Forum was the signing of a contract between Macedonia and Russia's oil major LUKoil, Mironov said. Another important contract was signed by Norwegian companies with Izhorskiye Zavody, one of the biggest enterprises of St. Petersburg producing metal items for shipbuilding, machine building and electrotechnical enterprises.
