British Council Petersburg office ready to assist in continuing probe.

british_council The British Council's St. Petersburg office is ready to provide any information needed to complete an investigation into allegations of illegal business operations by the organization.

"We are now waiting for a letter from the interior affairs agencies containing a list of all the necessary documents. As soon as we receive it, all the requested documents will be made available immediately," spokesman for the council's St. Petersburg office Stanislav Smirnov told Interfax.

Neither the British Council nor the British Consulate in St. Petersburg links the continuing probe with the 'spy row' that erupted after the Russian Federal Security Service said it uncovered four British intelligence agents working as employees of the British embassy in Moscow.
