Finnish cooperative Suomen Osuuskauppa (SOK) said in a statement Monday that negotiations concerning two more hotels in the centre of St Petersburg in Russia were ongoing. SOK's first St Petersburg hotel, situated on Vasily Island opposite St Isaac's Cathedral, is to open for business summer next year.
"Four-star Sokos Hotels are ideal for St Petersburg where there is a lack of quality, mid-range priced hotel accommodation," said in the statement Matti Pulkki of SOK's hotel and restaurant division.
