Wireless and GPS technology company Benefon announced today that it has appointed
Anatloy Kornev as the new Technical Manager of its Navigation Research & Development facility in St. Petersburg, Russia.
In his new position, Anatloy will play a key role in expanding Benefon's navigation, location and presence applications. Anatloy's appointment comes as part of Benefon's ongoing drive to lead the field in Personal Navigation with the worldwide launch of its new generation of TWIG personal navigation devices.
A well-established and experienced programme manager with over ten years experience in the development of mobile software, Anatloy joins Benefon from TechSys Inc, where he was project leader of multimedia development on the Symbian OS. He previously held several senior positions across the company's various business divisions, where he was responsible for overseeing the software and application strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, Benefon CTO Simon Button said, "Anatloy has in-depth knowledge and extensive experience of software applications for mobile devices. His arrival at Benefon brings added strength and vision to our software engineering team in designing and delivering solutions that offer mobile users the best in GPS navigation, location and presence-based applications and services."
