10.25.2011 06:47

Linxdatacenter Spb

Linxdatacenter, a provider of data center services in Central and Eastern Europe, has launched its second facility in Russia.
The nearly 100,000 sq ft data center is within the Sky-Trade Business Center in St. Petersburg. The data center's power capacity is 12MW. It uses on-site gas turbines for co-generation and takes advantage of free cooling.
Linxdatacenter has served the Russian market for more than 11 years, the company said. It has had a data center in Moscow for about a decade and the St. Petersburg facility is its expansion into the country's northwest.
Linxdatacenter president and CEO Jules Delahaije said the northwestern region of Russia, particularly St. Petersburg, was a strategically important area for the company.
“Its unique location serves as a window to Scandinavian and Western European countries, making it very attractive from the investment point of view,” Delahaije said about area.
Amsterdam-based Linxdatacenter has nine offices across Central and Eastern Europe. Positioning itself as a “bridge between the West and the East,” the company says its focus is strictly on this region's markets, where it believes there is “great potential and opportunities, especially in the Russian Federation.”
In addition to Russian data centers, Linxdatacenter has facilities in Tallinn, Estonia, and Warsaw, Poland. All of its data centers are inteconnected.
The company held an opening ceremony in St. Petersburg Friday, with both Russian and Dutch government officials on hand, including the Duth prime minister Mark Rutte.
The provider is offering colocation, dedicated and virtual servers and managed services, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service, disaster recovery, storage, backup, security, hosting and more.
