In January-September of 2013 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred 25.9 mln. rubles for the implementation of measures aimed at decrease of negative effect on environment of territories adjacent to the port, the company announced. Funds were transferred for control of observation of norms and requirements of environmental and sanitary legislation, monitoring of quality of water, maintenance of water treatment facilities and treatment of waste water. Within the reporting period the company carried out works on disposal of consumption and production wastes, including recordkeeping of volumes of wastes, monitoring of places for temporary storage of wastes and removal. JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (included in UCL Port – part of subholding, consolidating stevedoring assets of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg. It operates by modern specialized terminals for handling of container, reefer, ro-ro cargoes, cars and metals. In 2012 the turnover of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” amounted to 8.7 mln. tons of cargoes.
