President of Algeria Abdelaziz Butefliqa arrived in St. Petersburg in the course of his official visit to Russia. He met Governor Yakovlev in a city government residence. Negotiations on mutually advantageous cooperation took place between the leaders. The Algerian President visited "Almaz" Shipbuilding Company, one of the city's leading enterprises. The company has a long-lasting tradition of cooperation with the Algerian Navy. 9 rocket ships for Algeria have been built here since 1967 till 1982.
