Russian-Swedish social project.
04.24.2001 13:59

Photo by N. Infantiev, Interpress. A Centre for mentally challenged invalids under the city's Admiralteisky district Social Protection Board exists at this address. Handicapped persons will be allowed to live at the shelter on a temporary basis. The shelter was created as a part of the Russian-Swedish social project "For Improving Social Work in St. Petersburg in 1997 - 2000". Advanced social service techniques developed in Sweden were used in the creation of the shelter. Aside from a temporary dwelling, invalids will be entitled to services by specialists, such as psychologists, social workers and labour instructors. They will also be instructed by shelter workers in cooking simple dishes for themselves. Photo by N. Infantiev, Interpress.
