A Heraldic Council may be created under the Governor of St. Petersburg to examine all images that may decorate the city during the celebration of its 300th anniversary. A decree to create such a council is being prepared by the Governor. Head of the Russian Presidential Heraldic Council G. Velinbakhov says that such an organization would help prevent errors such as depicting a gold anchor on St. Petersburg´s Coat of Arms instead of a silver one. Mr. Velinbakhov also said that a logo of St. Petersburg´s 300th anniversary celebration has been chosen. The logo contains an image of Peter-and-Paul´s Fortress.
