An ultra-modern lithotriptor, also known as "21st Century Stone Grinder", began operating at the hospital. The device allows physicians to fight a wide-spread urinary bladder stone disease. The unique piece of equipment, made by the German Dornier firm, was bought using the resources of St. Petersburg's Committee on Healthcare and will be used to treat patients with obligatory and voluntary insurance policies. Patients on insurance programs will be able to use it free of charge. The hospital's doctors now have an opportunity to provide better medical aid to 70-80 patients suffering from the disease monthly. Photo by S. Tyagin, Interpress.
