Six land lots on Kamenny Island have been given by the municipal Investment and Tender Commission to JSC "Europa Hotel" to built a network of hotel-type apartments. This construction will be carried out here in the nearest year and a half. Although construction on Kamenny Island is forbidden, the ban will be lifted in this specific case to allow the restoration of buildings which have existed here previously. This refers to two residences on Western Alley and to four buildings on Sanatory Alley. Only the Likhachev Residence on Sanatory Alley remains today. The rest of the buildings are to be re-built practically from scratch according to existing drafts. The network of apart-hotels will include more than ten mansions.
