A monument to one of the greatest Russian novelists Ivan Turgenev was set up today in the Manege square. Authors of the three metres tall bronze sculpture are Ian Neyman, Valentin Sveshnikov and architect Chelbogashev. While carving the sculrture, they used Turgenev's death-mask, which is kept in the Pushkinsky Dom museum. Governor Vladimir Yakovlev and Zurab Tsereteli, President of Russia's Academy of Arts, took part in the opening ceremony.
