Metrobus is the name of a new public transport system, which is planned to be introduced in St. Petersburg by Swedish international cooperation agency SIDA. About 873 thousand crowns were allotted for preliminary research and for working the project implementation conditions out.
As the city's administration Transport Committee representative told the "Regions.Ru" reporter, the offer arouse interest as a result of problems with public transport functioning St. Petersburg has been facing recently.
The system introduction will help solving a number of urgent problems, and the payment system (right after boarding) will minimize financial losses and allow the operating company to get certain profit, while the city's budget will get extra taxes.
