Environment week will be held on September 10-16 in St. Petersburg. This city ecological action has been conducted since 1995, it concerns environment preservation and population health. Social and scientific organizations, institutes of higher education, schools and non-school education institutes traditionally take part in preparing and conducting the Week. Week-2001 is to unify citizens and officials in carrying out both undertaken and planned measures on improving ecological conditions, and to define priority ecological problems circle.
The task of the Week-2001 is to attract attention to the environment preservation problems. The main burden of this year's Week is the city's environment enhancement as a concrete step to a citizen's health.
An exposition of works by Finnish colleagues from the Environment Preservation Centre in Helsinki will open in Mariinsky Palace. The exposition is dedicated to the "Air - State of Health" dependence research results, made in Helsinki. Numerous seminars and conferences for the city's specialists on ecological problems, concerned with the population's ecological safety and health provision.
