A solemn ceremony of opening a carillon - bells at the Peter and Paul Cathedral's belfry will take place in St. Petersburg September 15. This was announced yesterday by Boris Arakcheev, the State museum of history of Petersburg director.

The Big Carillon consists of 51 bells and is a gift form the government of Flanders. According to Arakcheev's words, the chimes will soon resume playing melodies performed here till 1917.
