King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and HM Queen Silvia of Sweden have just arrived in Saint Petersburg. Presidential Plenipotentiary in the North-Western Federal District Viktor Cherkesov, Governor of Saint Petersburg Vladimir Yakovlev with his wife, Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Legislative Assembly Sergei Tarasov and other officials met the Royal couple in the airport. RF Minister of Finances Alexei Kudrin arrived on the same plane with Carl XVI Gustaf and Silvia.

It is worth reminding that the Royal couple has already visited Moscow, and on October 11, 2001 the King and the Queen are expected to visit Arkhangelsk and Solovki Islands.
