A new scientific centre opened in St. Petersburg.The official opening of the Scientific Fund “International Environmental and Remote Probing Centre named after Nansen”, founded by many Russian and foreign scientific and study centres, was held in Petrovsky hall of the State University. The Centre aims to study the Arctic environment and global climate fluctuation with the help of satellites, to prepare scientific manpower. Besides, the Centre is supposed to enable Russian international cooperation in the field of polar regions exploration.
