The directorate of “ST-Petersburg Open” will file an application for holding in final tournament of 2003 “Masters Cups” till December 15.
According to the Director General of “ST-Petersburg Open”, M. Rydnik, the idea to chose St. Petersburg as a host of the final tournament of the year was given by the head of ATP, Mark Miles. To mention, prize money of such a tournament is about USD 4 millions. Here the directorate of “ST-Petersburg Open” is counting on its stockholders – Baltoneksimbank and Konty Corporation, as well as help from the Russian Government and potential sponsors. Applications for “Masters Cup-2003” host will be considered by ATP, with a resolution to come in spring 2002.
