The Scandinavian Cultural Centre has been established in St. Petersburg.

The centre is supposed to consolidate Russia's scientific, cultural and social relations of with the countries of North Europe.

The new public organization aims to unite scientists of humanities and art workers in studying history and culture of the countries of this region, to attract public attention and involve young specialists into scientific work. Russia's intergovernmental relations with Scandinavian countries have shown considerable improvement for the recent time, more often it's said that neighbours should know more about each other. The Scandinavian Centre is a collective member of the St. Petersburg Association of International Cooperation.
