18:19 The IX Festival of Sacred Music and Folklore “Yule-2002” opens today in St. Petersburg.
Choirs and choruses, as well as folklore ensembles, take part in the festival, which was sanctified by the Petersburg and Ladoga Metropolitan Vladimir.

18:17 Sergey Mironov, Federation Council Speaker, comes to St. Petersburg for two days.
On January 9 Mironov meets with Viktor Tarasov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, and may take part in a meeting of the St. Petersburg parliament.
