Starting from 1993 the Charity Fund of Vishnevskaya and Rostropovich actively participates in development of St. Petersburg medicine. Now the star couple is carrying out a project of vaccination of all school leavers against hepatitis B. To realize this program more then three million dollars were assigned by the Fund in November 2001.
