Princess Tatjana Illarionovna Metternich initiated vaccination of city's schoolchildren against hepatitis B. The German Fund of the St. Lazarus Order, headed by the princess, sponsored procurement of 3900 dozes of Belgium vaccine “Andgerix”, the total cost of which exceeds $15thou. Pupils of 11 schools of Kalininsky District will be vaccinated against hepatitis B, which strikes mostly drug-takers. The action started in the school-lyceum No. 126.
On the same day Princess Metternich and German representatives of the St. Lazarus Order visited the First Surgical Hospital of the Paediatrics Academy, where they gave their gifts to little patients and personnel. The German Fund of the St. Lazarus Order has been having patronage of this hospital since 1991.
