Vladimir Kondrashin was born in Leningrad. He started playing basketball here, graduated from the Lesgaft Institute of Physical Training. As early as in youth he threw in his lot with Leningrad “Spartak”, where was a leading player and trainer. Kondrashin has not merely collected one of the best country's teams, he has established the Leningrad basketball school, which is respected all over the world. And the USSR basketball team, trained by legendary Kondrashin, won a golden medal.
