Today the St. Petersburg Committee of City-Planning and Architecture and the Union of Russian Architects will announce the results of the competition on building up of the former Komendantsky Aerodrome. The block is planned to consist of apartment houses of the total area of 40 thousand sq. m. and high-rise dwelling houses after individual projects (15-16 thousand sq. m.). In addition, a Pjatjorochka shop and a kindergarten will be allocated on the territory. They, by the terms of the competition, could be designed both as separate buildings and occupying the ground floors of houses to be built. Three teams take part in the competition. The leitmotif of all design projects is the theme of an arch.
