Finland's President Tarja Halonen Visited Consecration of the Lutheran Church of the Blessed Virgin in St Petersburg that took place yesterday, on May 19.
This temple on Bolshaya Konyushennaya was built in 1805 as a church of Finnish parish, in 1938 it was closed. Then it was used as an exhibition hall of flora and fauna expositions. In 1999-2000 the church was reconstructed with the support of the Finnish Church. | |
