Investment-building group " Nevsky Syndicate ", Committee on construction of administration of the city and the Petersburg Union of composers have declared open musical competition on creation of a hymn for builders of Northern capital. Competition will be held since August 2002 till March, 2003 in the framework of the official program “300-anniversary of Saint Petersburg”. The presentation of a hymn will pass in April, 2003.
The hymn, according to organizers of competition, should become uniting factor in Saint Petersburg builders’ life and to help builders to realize importance and necessity of their work ,because not any other proffession leaves such trace in a history of city. Conditions of competition will be declared August, 8 on celebrating of Day of the builder in Concert Hall "Oktjabrsky", and in March, 2003 the jury will define the best work which becomes a hymn of builders of St. Petersburg. Both professional poets and composers, and all interested persons can take part in competition. The winner of competition will win a rank of the Laureate and the monetary premium at a rate of 3000 $, other four works will bring to authors a rank of the Diplomants and 500 $.
